Rousseau, whose parents were Belgian, and of Elizabeth R. “Lizzie” Nugent.

Sam’s paternal grandmother was Jerilyn G. Boring (the daughter of Eugene Barton Boring and Mildred Belle Morris). Jerilyn was born in California. Eugene was born in California, the son of Samuel Isaac Boring and Harriet Hodges. Mildred was born in Colorado, the daughter of Newell Morris and Hattie Belle Colebourn.
