Another week means another New Music Friday! SO MANY of our favorite country artists dropped new songs today (July 26) and we aren’t lying when we say that they’re all bops and no skips.
For starters, Miranda Lambert revealed that her highly-anticipated album Postcards from Texas is dropping on Friday, September 13, and gave fans a taste of what to expect by releasing yet another track from the project titled “Alimony” earlier this week.
A jaunty tumbling swagger that’s long on bar-room piano, the pre-chorus boasts, “I called that lawyer up in Dallas, the one who’s livin’ in that palace / So I know he’s good at winnin’, if you think there’s somethin’ that you’re missin’…”
“We were out in my barn; I was showing Shane and Natalie the horses, and I asked if he had any other titles,” Lambert remembers of the day she, Shane McAnally and Natalie Hemby hit a creative streak. “He said he had one, and I was like, ‘What is it? Because your last one was ‘Looking Back on Luckenbach,’ which I didn’t think you could top. He said, ‘Well, ‘If you’re gonna leave me in San Antone, remember the Alamo-neeeee…’’ Natalie and I were like, ‘Alright, Shane! Stop showing off.’
“We went back to the house and got the guitars,” Lambert continues, “and I specifically was like, ‘I want a shuffle, man.’ I love to shuffle so much, and this record needed a shuffle! I knew I wanted one in my set, because I haven’t done one in a while – and everybody loves a shuffle.”
Other releases that we can’t stop listening to come from Tigirlily Gold, The Red Clay Strays and Charley Crockett, as they released full-length projects, with hot earworms from artists like Post Malone with Luke Combs, Jordan Davis, Kacey Musgraves, Riley Green, Justin Moore, Lee Brice, and Brian Kelley among others.
Music City’s newcomers certainly didn’t disappoint when it comes to sharing their latest material today, as artists like Alana Springsteen with Tiësto, Wyatt Flores with The Castellows, Greylan James, Dani Rose, Mary Sarah, Ryan and Rory and more dropped some songs you need to hear.
