Michael Stoyanov is an American actor and writer. He has written for Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Mr. Show with Bob and David, The Dana Carvey Show, and MADtv.

He is the son of Karen and Edward Stoyanoff. On his Twitter account, he stated:

Some ppl are asking about my ancestry. Okay, one person is asking. I’m half Bulgarian, half Ukrainian, and half Battlestar Galactica nerd.

Michael’s paternal grandfather was named Nicholas Stoyanoff. Nicholas was born in Razgrad, Bulgaria.

Michael’s paternal grandmother was named Sonia/Sonja Druinskaya/Druinski. Sonia was born in Gomel, Belarus.

Michael’s maternal grandfather was Chester Johnson Braatz (the son of Gustav Adolf Braatz and Agnes Elisabeth Tursky). Chester was born in Wisconsin. Gustav was born in Lessen, Graudenz, Germany, now Grudziądz, Poland, of German, and some Polish, descent, the son of Wilhelm Braatz and Caroline Wohlfeil. Agnes was born in Wisconsin, to German parents, Friedrich Turski, from Frankfurt, and Caroline Sattler, from Klein Tromnau, Rosenberg, Westpreußen, Prussia.

Michael’s maternal grandmother was Naomi Ruth Limpus (the daughter of Oran Hubert Limpus and Caroline Ellen “Carry” Beckworth). Naomi was born in St. Joseph, Missouri, and was of English, Irish, likely German, and a small amount of Swedish, descent; she had deep roots in the U.S. Caroline was the daughter of Salem Beckworth, who was born in Canada, and of Helen Mae Kehler, who was from Iowa.
