Hayley Sales and Sharon Stone Release Debut Collaboration "Never Before"

Canadian singer/songwriter and actress Hayley Sales has teamed up with icon Sharon Stone to create a magical love song all about yearning.  Entitled “Never Before”, the single is a stunning fusion of pop, jazz and soul. 

What is perhaps the most endearing part of the song is the candid lyrics describing a desire to be loved and the initial hesitation but ultimate surrender that must occur for true connection. Sales’ warm vocals glide over whimsical piano and cinematic strings culminating into a sultry chorus.  The vintage sounding song still feels fresh though and can easily be a backdrop for a romantic film in the 1940s or today. 

“Never Before” is the first collaboration between Hayley Sales and Sharon Stone. Stone, a renowned actress and icon, proves that she is also an incredible songwriter, succeeding in painting vivid imagery of our deepest desires and fears. Sales is a prolific singer/songwriter and a self proclaimed “1940s pop star”.  who is influenced by not only classic jazz greats but also motown artists and folk artists from the 1960s. Together, the duo describe their songwriting process as effortless. 

Sales confides, “I showed up at her house with a handful of nerves and excitement…I’d never done a co-write before and had no idea what to expect or how to even go about it. The second she walked into the room, all that went away. She was so warm and gracious, so absolutely unpretentious and open. Sharon asked me, if one song could explain you to the world, what would it be? At first, I didn’t know. Then I realized …Romance. Romance moves me. Not just in that typical fall in love type of romance, but romance as a way of life…A way of walking, heart all messy and exposed, into everything. With that, we began to write.”

The single just released last week coincides with Sharon Stone’s upcoming memoir out March 30th . Entitled “The Beauty of Living Twice”, the personal book is “celebration of women’s strength and resilience, a reckoning, and a call to activism.”
