You can often find Brittan on a hike. She captioned this series of photos "mother nature & her creation." Hitting the trails is always a good idea. "Hiking is one of the best ways to get exercise. No matter what type of trail you find yourself on, hiking is a great whole-body workout—from head to toe and everything in between," says the National Parks Service. Some of the physical benefits include building stronger muscles and bones, improving your sense of balance, improving your heart health, and decreasing the risk of certain respiratory problems. It also offers many mental health benefits, according to a Stanford University study.

Brittan also plays tennis. "Chillin courtside," she captioned this Instagram post. According to ACE Fitness, tennis is a great workout, combining cardio and aerobic exercise, as there is a lot of running around, and hand-eye coordination. "While tennis provides numerous health benefits—improved aerobic fitness and anaerobic endurance, muscular fitness (grip strength and endurance), flexibility, multiple skill parameters (balance, speed, agility and quickness), reactivity, and power—it also is psychologically demanding," they say.

Brittan also does yoga. "On my journey to ultimate health, health of my mind, my spirit, and my body ♡ what are you doing today to nourish your internal garden?" she wrote about this photo of herself holding onto her yoga mat. There is a laundry list of reasons to do yoga, explains Harvard Health. "Researchers found that people who practiced yoga for at least 30 minutes once a week for at least four years, gained less weight during middle adulthood," they said. "People who were overweight actually lost weight. Overall, those who practiced yoga had lower body mass indexes (BMIs) compared with those who did not practice yoga. Researchers attributed this to mindfulness. Mindful eating can lead to a more positive relationship with food and eating."

Brittan also loves surfing. "Blue's on blue's," she captioned a recent photo of herself holding onto her surfboard.

Brittan also loves to snorkel. Here she enjoys "a magical moment with these beautiful creatures 🦋nothing compares to this place, i'm beyond grateful," she captioned the Instagram video. Surprisingly, putting on a snorkel and fins and swimming through the water is a great workout. In addition to being a great aerobic exercise and burning calories, other health benefits may include improved cardiovascular function, stress reduction, mood enhancement, and muscular toning.

Brittan also loves sitting on the beach with a good book. "Let your mind grow," she captioned a photo of herself. One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years compared with people who weren't readers or who read periodicals.

Brittan also prioritizes hydration. You can often find the island girl sipping out of a coconut. According to the U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine men should drink about 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day and women about 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids.
